NileGuide Expert Says:
Among the many delicious food options available at the Brooklyn Flea, the lobster rolls from Red Hook Lobster Pound stand out, as do sweet treats from Hot Blondies Bakery and ice cream from Blue Marble.
NileGuide Expert tip:
On Saturdays from 10 am-5 pm, the Brooklyn Flea is outdoors in Fort Greene (176 Lafayette Avenue between Clermont & Vanderbilt Avenues), while on Sundays you can find it inside the tallest building in Brooklyn: the former Williamsburg Bank Building, at 1 Hanson Place at Flatbush Avenue. Both markets are open 10am to 5pm, rain or shine, through November.
- Founded in 2008, the Brooklyn Flea is now the largest outdoor market in New York City, featuring around 150 vendors every week. Crowds flock to the Flea to browse through tons of antique and repurposed furniture, clothing, records and collectibles, as well as to support local artisans selling their jewelry, art and crafts. One of the market's biggest draws is its variety of fresh food options, including Latin American vendors known from the popular Red Hook Ball Fields, lobster rolls, pies and other baked goods, handmade chocolates, gourmet pickles and much, much more. Fortunately for its dedicated fans, the Brooklyn Flea's new indoor venue (at One Hanson Place at Flatbush Avenue) has allowed the market to stay open year-round.
