Not much is cheaper than a campground. Sunset Campground and North Campground are right inside Bryce Canyon itself. There are tent spaces as well as RV hookups in each. Outside Bryce Canyon proper are two campgrounds, the KOA and Bryce Canyon Pines, each of which also offers RV spots and decent motel rooms.
The listed nearby motels provide the basic amenities. They each offer are great low rates, clean rooms, and easy access to Bryce Canyon National Park. The Bryce Valley Inn and Bryce Pioneer Village Motel in particular are decent choices for traveling families who want to keep costs low.
Foster's Motel and Marianna Inn Motel are definitely very basic. If you just want that place to lay your head at night, though, they might be your ticket.
