National Parks have plenty of active things to do by default. Here, we're rounded up a list of the most active things to do in Bryce Canyon. Meaning you'll get a workout with a great pay-off in the form of views and stunning natural beauty! Ready to get your lungs pumping?
The first things on our list of best active things to do in Bryce Canyon are the backcountry trails. The 23-mile Under-the-Rim Trail will knock your socks off. Be sure to check in with the rangers for ideas on how to connect the smaller but still rigorous loops, such as Riggs Spring and Swamp Canyon, to create awesome off-road thigh-burners.
Fairyland Loop, Peekaboo Loop, and the Rim Trail don't get as much traffic because they demand you work to enjoy them. Remember, Bryce Canyon is an amphitheater, and you start from the top. Which means you have to hike back up on the return trip! These trails demonstrate that concept quite nicely, thank you.
The Hat Shop makes it onto this list because of its 1,000-foot elevation gain. Gulp! Since Bryce Canyon is already located at 9,000 feet, this hike will seriously work your lungs. And Snowshoe Hikes made it because...well, have you ever been snowshoeing before? It's a lot harder than you think, trust us. What a wintertime workout!
Nearby Red Canyon recreation area offers hiking and mountain biking on some killer trails. Ups, downs, zigs and zags--wow. It's a great, still somewhat secret spot that get you moving.
