  • The Opera House located along the Andrássy Avenue perfectly matches the grandeur of the surrounding buildings and yet still stands out. There is plenty to do near this marvellous building; the heart of the VI District or cultural and theatrical centre of Budapest, so choosing accommodation in the area is a great idea.

    Our first two picks are only a few meters from the gorgeous Opera House: Our top pick is the K&k Opera located on a quiet little street just behind the Opera House being a popular and classy choice. Hotel Pest with its spacious Hungarian style rooms in second place is an economical, comfortable and authentic choice.

    Hotel Ambra in third place has a boutique vibe to it along with its own wellness centre.

    The Medosz Hotel is an inexpensive and simple choice half a mile from the Opera House, just off the Andrássy Avenue in the company of great little pubs and cafés.

    The next three picks are all apartment style accommodations: the recently renovated Ryan Apartment along Nagymező Street - the so-called theatrical district of the city, the rather small but fully equipped Figo Apartment and Flatley Apartment.

    The Domina Inn Fiesta, though slightly further from the Opera House than the above mentioned, is a modern hotel located inside a neo-classical building under which a cellar is situated featuring gypsy music and folklore events.

    In ninth place is the fully equipped Caterina Hostels, a budget accommodation popular with backpackers because of its central location.
