  • A gem and must see of the romantic, medieval Castle District, the Matthias Church along with the Fishermen's Bastion and Royal Palace comprise the set of landmarks without which the Castle Hill would lose its character. Located bang smack in the middle of the District, it seems to draw all the other attractions into its circumference, with these Top 10 Hotels Near the Matthias Church scattered amongst them.

    Our first pick is the Hilton Hotel; a five star hotel with amazing view of the city, built around the ruins of a 13th century monastery creating a very interesting contrast.

    Our next two pick are for the romantics out there, located on Holy Trinity Square right opposite the Matthias church: the charming Kulturinnov Hotel above the Hungarian Cultural Foundation with its typically small rooms and high ceilings is a real gem, and the Burg Hotel with great view of neighbouring historic buildings from inside its Neo Gothic shell.

    In fourth and fifth place are two bed and breakfasts: the Bellevue Budapest B&B located at the foot of the Royal Castle with gorgeous panoramic view of a number of monumental buildings including the Fishermen's Bastion, and the lovely little Budavár Pension B&B.
