Being labelled the Paris of the East, Budapest definitely has its romantic side. And what better way to make the most of it than by having a cosy meal at one of the city's lovely romantic restaurants?
Our first two picks are both docked ships boasting with exceptional cuisine and view of the Danube: The Vénhajó in first place is a one hundred year old ship also serving as a museum, and the Spoon Café and Lounge in second place has two restaurants, six bars (one underwater) and charming winter garden on board, plus a 75 meter deck.
In third place is the Le Jardin de Paris serving authentic French dishes (and wines) in a low-key, romantic setting with yellow décor providing a warm and cosy atmosphere.
At Belcanto, our fourth pick, its classic dining with a twist: Being located besides the Opera House, there's no food without music as every evening the waiters burst into song!
In fifth place is the Café Kor, an elegant but casual café with plenty of intimate space making it perfect for romantic dates. The mood is also set by the warm orange walls and light brown wooden furniture.
Our sixth pick is the Kogart Restaurant and Café located inside a beautifully modernized 19th century mansion; one of the classiest choices in the city with Hungarian standards served in the most exclusive surroundings.
