Description:

• This hotel is so remarkable, tour buses stop here to allow people to look over the lobby. This Art Nouveau building, one of the most elegant and majestic properties in the city, stands as one of the finest in the world. With the Chain Bridge directly opposite the front doors, it has a picture-perfect view of the Buda Castle making this the most picturesque location of any hotel in the city. Originally built as the Gresham Life Assurance Company in 1906, it awed the world even then with the craftsmanship provided by the most acclaimed craftsmen of the time. Nearly destroyed by World War II and subsequent vandalism, it was restored over 5 years using and matching every single piece of remaining item of decor to bring it back to its original glory, even returning to the original manufacturers when possible. The doors reopened on June 18, 2004. As is Four Seasons tradition, guests are pampered in every way possible. While all rooms are beautifully decorated with mahogany furniture, the most expensive suites are equipped with bedroom sets made of mother-of-pearl and some with fireplaces. Each bathroom of all rooms is fitted with Italian and Spanish marble with deep-soak bathtubs. No detail in design has been overlooked, and each room has been recreated in its original glory.
