Description:

  • Hidden away on a leafy street in the residential, hilly twelfth district, Cascade restaurant brings seafood and shellfish into a landlocked country; therefore prices are above average. The exterior is eye-catching with its brick and glass design, sharp angles and pillars. The menu has 23 pages, mostly devoted to fish although there is also a page dedicated to beef and veal, as well as several on poultry. The fish selection includes the humble Hungarian fogas, odd items like 'red-nosed cockle' and red scorpion fish and some unheard-of and not very appetizing sounding dishes such as 'warty crab' and 'peacock wrasse'. The Gourmand salad with smoked goose breast and grilled calamari is a meal in itself; some items are priced according to weight so do be careful.
