Pink Cadillac

• Who would have thought to name an Italian restaurant Pink Cadillac? But it seems to have worked. This is one of the longest-surviving restaurants of the increasingly trendy Ráday utca. After a number of remodels, it looks more modern, but retains some '50s flare of tackiness with the half pink Cadillac crashing through the wall. The tiled areas on the walls also add that yesteryear flavor. The inside seating is now large enough to make reservations not needed most of the time. In summer, you will want to sit outside, where mists of water are lightly sprayed into the air to cool down the temperature. We love the table-side buzzer for calling the waitstaff, who responds almost instantly. What has not changed over the course of time is the quality of the food, which is wonderful. Pizza is the specialty, but a full range of Italian selections are also excellent choices. We love their penne pasta al gamberini pomodoro, shrimp fried in garlic oil with tomato sauce. Their motto is "good mood food" and it is.
