Batthyány Square Market Hall

• Opposite the Houses of Parliament and behind a bus terminal on the Buda side of the River Danube is the Batthyányi Square Market Hall. Despite its classic 19th century exterior, the interior doesn't resemble that nostalgic old-time market hall atmosphere so typical of Budapest, greeting its guests with modern supermarket. It retains the two-storey design however, but instead of souvenirs, the second floor only houses offices, travel agencies and restaurants. It is a great place for shopping or booking a flight, but not the market hall one would go to for an authentic Hungarian experience.
