    Description:

    • Hajós Alfréd National Swimming Complex on the centrally located leafy green Margaret Island is named after and was designed by the Hungarian Olympic gold medallist Hajós Alfred, who was not only an architect but also a professional swimmer, winning two gold medals in Athens.

      The national swimming and water polo team train at the Hajós Alfréd on a daily basis, plus swimming and diving competitions are also held annually, but the pools are open to the public during certain hours each day.

      The swimming complex comprises of two indoor pools; a 25m swimming pool and a beginner's pool, and four outdoor pools; two large 50m swimming pools, a 33m pool and a diving pool. It is open all year round, with longer opening hours in the summer: From 6am – 3pm form Monday to Friday, 6am – 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Entrance fees are 1700ft for adults and 1050ft for students.
