Top 10:

Bars and Clubs near Recoleta Cemetary, Buenos Aires, Argentina

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • Whether classic cafes, dive watering holes, Irish pubs, or dance-til-you-drop clubs are your thing, Buenos Aires has it, and in vast quantities. Nightlife is a way of life in Buenos Aires, where dinner lasts until midnight, bars, cafes, and tango halls are packed until dawn, and clubbers roll into the discos to get the party started around 3am - the time that most are heading home in other parts of the world. If you want to experience the night like the locals do, you will do yourself a favor to get into the mindset that everything simply starts - and ends - much, much later here. Enchanting, quaint San Telmo and glamorous Palermo Soho have the highest concentration of nighttime spots, and just wandering around the barrios looking for a good time is a fool-proof way to kick-start your evening. But come ready to travel, because if you want a taste of the renowned BA clubbing scene, you'll have to get yourself over to the riverside Costanera Norte, where a strip of megaclubs that regularly host international electronic DJs awaits. If the underground is more your style, the smaller independent clubs are in unassuming basements and hole-in-the-wall locales downtown. And if what you're after is low-key elegance, Buenos Aires is absolutely filled with old-fashioned cafes and milongas (tango halls) where the historic mystique and romance of Buenos Aires carry on.
