Description:

  • Taking its name from the family that owns it -- the Glusmans -- this is one of the newest boutique hotels in Palermo, opened at the end of 2008. The hotel is very simple in its decor, with a masculine mix of neutral and dark tones, hardwood floors, and then a splash of color via a floral wall pattern in each room. Rooms, while not technically suites, are oversize, and all have king-size beds, balconies, microwaves, and L'Occitane toiletries. What makes the hotel special, in addition to service, is how quiet it is compared to other boutique hotels in Palermo Soho, which strive to be social centers. Walls and windows are specially insulated, so when you're done with having your fun on the town, the Glu will be a quiet respite, even if near plenty of the action. The fantastic rooftop lounge has a Jacuzzi and swimming pool.
