Description:
- Honed from a lifetime of painstaking recipe-collecting from her Southeast Asian family roots, New York native (and now Buenos Aires transplant) Christina Wiseman labors over one set dinner per week, inviting up to 12 guests into her cozy Colegiales home as the first Asian-themed puerta cerrada ("closed door") restaurant in Buenos Aires. Each week, diners can choose from a meat or vegetarian base, as well as opt for their own personal level of spice-tolerance, for their 5-course meal, the menu of which changes weekly based on Wiseman's supermarket finds: think Thai seafood, Vietnamese spring rolls, and Filipino chicken and corn stew. For a slightly higher fee, diners can enjoy an equally delicious pre-dinner aperitif made with ginger, sake, lemongrass, and the like. Otherwise, just bring a bottle of your favor spirit to share around. Summertime finds the spicy, aromatic spreads on Cocina Sunae's sprawling rooftop terrace.
