Description:
If you're looking for an overdone, Bollywood-inspired dining experience, you won't find it at Tandoor. You will, however, enjoy fine dining in an elegant French neoclassical building. Owners Shahrukh and Belli are Indian expats; Shahrukh had originally come to Argentina to tango in 2004, and then opened Tandoor in 2007. All of the menu items come mildly spiced, but you can have anything spiced to taste. The philosophy behind the restaurant is to have various regional dishes, many cooked in styles as families do at home. Choose such staples as the classic Tandoori curry chicken dish, tikka masala, or KuKuPak, chicken in curry and coconut milk, based on a family recipe. Shahrukh recommends lamb Biryani, cooked the old-fashioned way in a sealed pot for a few hours. Several kinds of naan (flatbread) can accompany the meal. Finish with basmati rice pudding, mango ice cream, or a fusion dessert.
