The Best in Buenos Aires Nightlife

The Best in Buenos Aires Nightlife

Description:

A city that truly never sleeps (at least not from Thursday to Monday), Buenos Aires is well-known to be one of the liveliest nightlife destinations in the world. From low-key eating and drinking in the neighborhood watering hole with friends to the wildest electronica- and champagne-fueled clubbing nights around, night owls can easily keep busy from dusk till dawn - if they can keep up with the party-loving porteños, that is.

    Description:

Established in 1992, Pacha is one of the longest running nightclubs in Buenos Aries, a city where turnover rates are high. An international club, based in Spain, it draws in huge names in house and techno music. It regularly attracts the city's most stylish crowd, who get the party started fashionably late - around 3am. Buying a VIP ticket reserves you a spot removed from the thumping mass of bodies and loud music on the main floor. You can also enjoy the outdoor patio area, which is especially pleasant when the sun rises over the Rio de la Plata.

  • Gibraltar

    Gibraltar - Buenos Aires

    Description:

Gibraltar is one of the most popular watering holes in San Telmo, drawing an international crowd to this small space for the pool tables, TV screens showing local soccer games, and, oddly, the spicy Indian and Thai-inspired menu. The green curry is a local favorite, as are the cheeseburgers, which tend to be a commodity in Buenos Aires. The good selection of already cheap beers on tap and drinks are half-price during happy hour, which stretches into a healthy 5 hours on week nights.

  • Zizek

    Zizek - Buenos Aires

    Description:

Although Buenos Aires is home to tons of discos and clubs where you can boogie the night away, the music tends to be fairly limited in terms of variety. So when you tire of the standard electronic, techno, and house, enter Zizek, the resident "urban beats" party in BA, albeit on a very irregular basis. Each fiesta features guest DJs and performers churning out an endless stream of reggaeton, hip-hop, dancehall, and cumbia mash-ups like you've never heard. Check them out online for sound clips and to see where they're turning up the beat next.

If you don't want to dance, don't bother coming at all, because you won't find a place to sit down here.
