Description:
This newcomer has made a splash on the Buffalo dining scene with its inventive Italian menu and contemporary setting. Exposed brick, modern art, and dark wood floors lend classic touches, while candlelight and jazz strains offer a dash of romance. Start with the homemade ravioli in a tomato vodka cream sauce filled with shrimp and scallops, or two towers of beef carpaccio with arugula and shaved Parmesan. Then continue on to the prosciutto-wrapped filet topped with warm Gorgonzola, served with a homemade gnocchi just slightly fried so that it melts in your mouth. The long wine list (mostly from Italy and California) complements the meal, and desserts are equally well done. This young restaurant has already hit its stride, and people are flocking: Even a Monday night was bustling.
