  • Before all the tourist development, Cabo San Lucas was a small fishing village, and the abundant marine life in Bahia San Lucas and the Sea of Cortez makes this a prime destination for both big-game anglers and lovers of the fresh local seafood.

Our top pick is El Farallon, a cliff-side restaurant at the Capella resort in Pedregal that overlooks the Pacific Ocean, featuring market style seafood selections expertly prepared by their chef, and served in one of the most romantic settings on earth. Mariscos Mazatlan, our second pick, is located just off the tourist track downtown, and is one of the favorite seafood spots for locals.

Lorenzillo's Live Lobster House is a San Lucas landmark, situated right on the marina, and allows you to choose your own crustacean. Sunset Da Mona Lisa, like El Farallon, is a romantic restaurant perched over the Sea of Cortez, with unbeatable Land's End views and a menu rich in local seafood as well as Italian specialties. The Crazy Lobster is another local favorite, primarily because of their generous portions and affordable prices. Where else can you get steak and lobster tail for 14 USD, and free tequila shots afterwards?

The Cerritos Beach Club & Surf requires a drive up the coast, but is worth it for the superb seafood combo platters and the relaxed sandy atmosphere. The Baja Lobster Company is a relatively new addtion to the marina, with an innovative chef who balances traditional favorites like lobster thermidor with more creative options like lobster tacos wrapped in banana leaves. Nick-San, located just off the marina, is the best sushi restaurant in town, and also offers terrific teriyaki.

The Ridge Bistro at Ridge Luxury Villas has some great seafood selections, including an unbelievable blue fin tuna ceviche. The Office on Medano Beach has a variety of shrimp and lobster options, which you can enjoy as the waves roll in and the bikinis walk by. It is a tough job, but someone has to do it.
