  • Some longtime resorts have been recently rebranded or given more modern facelifts. Heading the list is the new Wyndham Los Cabos. This marina side, centrally located property was formerly known as the Tesoro, Costa Real, and Plaza Las Glorias. Wyndham, the world's largest hotelier, has promised ten million in renovations, and has already updated the facade. Grand Solmar is a a conversion and upgrade of the old Solmar Suites, about 100 of which will remain in their original incarnation. Grand Solmar is a more expansive and ambitious project, with a superb Pedregal location and private access to Playa Solmar. They had a soft opening in February, and plans are currently in the works for a full-scale grand opening some time in the next calendar year. El Ameyal is a rebranding of the old VistAzul, largely to emphasize their spa services, which are among the best in Los Cabos. Their Temazcal, a traditional Mexican treatment akin to a Native American sweat lodge, is among the best of their offerings.
