Pedregal is considered the best and most affluent neighborhood in Cabo San Lucas, and features a host of superb luxury hotels. The most jaw-dropping of these is Capella Pedregal, with guests entering through a long tunnel, the only privately owned hotel in all of Mexico. The accommodations and amenities are all first class, particularly El Farallon, a market-style seafood restaurant located on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Ridge Luxury Villas at Playa Grande nearly match Capella is over-the-top extravagance, with a trio of Infinity pools and the best panoramic views in San Lucas. Grand Solmar, a conversion and upgrade of Solmar Suites (100 Suites will remain as a separate entity) is the latest entry from legendary local hotelier Don Luis Bulnes, and offers Pacific side splendor, private access to Playa Solmar, and a short walk to the downtown area. Playa Grande, like Grand Solmar and Ridge, is part of the Solmar Group, and boasts the same attention to detail, including a beautiful domed lobby. The Hotel Finisterra is one of the early landmark hotels of San Lucas, and still has an old-world cliff-side charm. Terra Sol is the other entry on this list from the Solmar Group.
