Los Cabos offers a spectacular collection of luxury resorts with stunning views of the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean, many with world-class amenities like Infinity pools, on-site spa services, and, in a few cases, championship caliber golf courses. However, budget minded travelers need not feel excluded, as there also many options in the intermediate to value class.
Our first choice is the One&Only Palmilla, which has been the luxury standard bearer for over fifty years. It is set on 250 acres, with deluxe amenities and a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. The Ridge Luxury Villas in Pedregal are a close second, with unbeatable views of the Pacific Ocean, the marina area, the bay, and downtown San Lucas. The on-site Infinity pools include a water slide, and dining options are among the best in Baja California Sur. The small but super deluxe Capella is also located in Pedregal, and features the only private tunnel in all of Mexico. Their signature restaurant, El Farallon, sits on a cliffside overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Villa La Estancia and Villa del Arco are both located on Medano Beach, the longest and most action-filled beach in Los Cabos. The former offers the only on-site shopping mall of any resort in the area, while the latter has the unique distinction of having a pirate ship anchored in one of their swimming pools. The open but still under construction Grand Solmar is a landmark resort situated near Land's End, with private access to Playa Solmar, and boasts its own fishing fleet.
For those looking for value oriented accommodations in downtown San Lucas, the Mar de Cortez is another long-time standout, with rooms from around 50 USD, and a terrific on-site restaurant called Baja Peppers. Los Milagros is another great option, a small downtown hotel with charming rooms and a courtyard fringed with bougainvillea and jasmine.
