  This solar-powered eco-friendly resort is located just north of El Sargento, and is way off-the-beaten-track, closer to La Paz than Los Cabos. But from November through March every year(that's the time of year when the El Norte winds blow down the Sea of Cortés), this is one of the best places on the planet to go kiteboarding and windsurfing. Ventana Bay specializes in packages that mix beachfront accommodation with sports packages (mountain biking, snorkeling, and kayaking equipment are also available). There is an onsite restaurant serving healthy meals, a full bar, and plenty of hammocks from which to star gaze at this charming little East Cape resort.
