NileGuide Expert tip:
Try the Limoncello with dessert.
Description:
Cabo San Lucas is blessed with a host of great Italian restaurants, and Capo San Giovanni, located in the heart of the downtown district, is one of the best. Chef Gianfranco Zappala has crafted a menu rich in traditional dishes like Cioppine alla Calabrese and Gnocchi alla Sorrento, and there are many regional styles represented. He also makes a very nice lasagna. The inside dining room offers a very romantic air-conditioned setting and views of the street, although many regulars prefer the spacious outdoor patio area, where they can frequently enjoy live music as they dine. The wine list is international, with wines from Mexico, Chile, Argentina, France, and, of course, many fine Italian choices from traditional regions like Tuscany and Piedmont. If you have never had Amarone, a dry wine made from grapes dried on straw mats, the Amarone Valpolicella Classico is worth a try. Champagne lovers should note the Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin Brut, and those who like a digestif to accompany their tiramasu can choose from Sambuca, Limoncello, Amaretto, and others. This restaurant is a must for lovers of hearty Italian cuisine, although dining here tends to be quite expensive. Both the food and service are among the best in San Lucas. Reservations are recommended.- © NileGuide2013
