This is one of the top fine dining destinations in all of Los Cabos. The atmosphere is casually elegant with colonial accents, the wine selections are excellent, and the food is superb. Chef and managing partner Jacobo Turquie has crafted a menu rich in contemporary Mexican cuisine, liberally spiced with dishes featuring the great local seafood. Turquie is a graduate of CIA (that would be the Culinary Institute of America, not the Central Intelligence Agency), and his educational background is evident. The presentation is outstanding, but not pretentious or ostentatious, and this is one of the most casually comfortable of all the fine dining restaurants in the area. For oenophiles, this is one of the key local fixtures, right up there with Deckman's and The Hill Top. Enjoy wines by the glass from stellar producers like Alois Lageder or Casa Madero (producer of wines in Mexico's Valle de Parras for over 400 years), or a split of Brut Imperial Champagne from Moet and Chandon. By the bottle selection include standout efforts from Ruinart, Robert Sinsky, Vega Sicilia, Torbreck, Antinori, Michel Roland, Casa Lapostolle, Almaviva, and others. If you love wine, these names will mean something to you, and the best thing to be said about La Panga Antigua is that the food is equal to the wines.
