Description:
The Office is a great place to unwind--or rewind-- with a 16-ounce Margarita. Weekly Mexican fiestas and buckets of beer go well with signature dishes like the fajitas and jumbo shrimp. Located on Medano Beach, the lively atmosphere takes a momentary pause every evening when guests marvel at the sunset. It's a popular place, so call ahead.

Best Medano Beach palapa bar.
Description:
The Office on Medano Beach is a long-time favorite among locals, who like the irony of having business meetings here. This is a palapa-topped bar and restaurant with a full bar and a large array of menu options, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is one of the best places to sit back in the shade and watch all the action on San Lucas' most popular beach. The breakfast menu is heavy on omelets and smoothies, with the lunch menu featuring a lot of seafood and hearty fare like hamburgers. The dinner menu offers traditional Mexican dishers, as well as seafood and steak options. There are specialty cocktails for each meal. Thursday nights are Gran Fiesta Mexicana, with pre-Colombian folk dancing, waiter's shows, audience participation, pinatas, candy for children, free tequila shooters, and other treats. There is a special menu for Thursday nights, the best option being the combination with shrimp enchiladas and lobster-stuffed chile rellenos. -

Our Local Expert Says:
Most fun you can have with your clothes on.
Description:
One of the signature clubs in town, justifiably famous for their Saturday night theme parties and the annual Pimp N Ho contest. You haven't really been to Cabo San Lucas unless you've partied at Squid Roe. This place packs in the crowds at night, with extremely loud music and a very energetic vibe. The drinks aren't terribly cheap, and the food isn't fancy. It's pub style, and Tuesdays are all you can eat barbecue for 120 pesos (10 USD). What sets this place apart is the atmosphere. Pretty much anything goes here, and this is not where you want to go if you want to sit in a corner and quietly sip a beer. This is where you want to go if you're ready to party like a rock star Cabo style. Like most of the better clubs in town, Squid Roe accelerates slowly during the day, and doesn't take off until later in the evening. During Spring Break, this place is absolutely insane. -

Our Local Expert Says:
Best live music in Los Cabos.
Description:
The one place in town everyone has heard of, regardless of whether they've ever been to Cabo San Lucas. This is a local landmark and has been for over twenty years, with great live music, a pumping sound system, good food and drinks, and an occasional appearance by his eminence, Sammy Hagar. Locals are used to getting late night phone calls apprising them of an imminent performance by the former Van Halen frontman. Oh yeah, they have tequila here too. The Cabo Wabo tequilas are all exceptionally good, with the reposado being of particular note. Drinks here aren't cheap by local standards, but they aren't particularly expensive either. Don't expect to be gouged because of the name recognition factor. The cantina menu offers a lot of shrimps and ceviches, with the patio grill menu leaning towards burgers, wings, and chicken fingers. Cabo Wabo packs in the crowds, and is one of those rare watering holes, like Harry's Bar in Venice or Sloppy Joe's in Key West, that became intimately and inextricably associated with a particular place (several Cabo Wabo locations have since opened in the US, but this is the gold standard).

This bistro offers a quaint atmosphere with a cozy decor featuring overstuffed reading chairs and couches placed here and there. There's also an attached gourmet market where you can purchase fine delicacies ranging from caviars, wines and cheese and even cigars. The bar area features live jazz and a light menu with a Neuvo Latino flavor. There are more than 150 wines to select from, and excellent espresso drinks. The drink menu attracts so many people that reservations are needed during peak seasons. Live jazz plays nightly.

Good place to start off your evening
Description:
Known by locals for the good drinks, the decor here includes the salvage from old boats and license plates from across the country. The crowd can be pretty wild but the selection on the menu will tame the beast in anyone. There is a popular pool table in the back. The drink prices are average and the Bloody Marys come highly recommended. Be sure to say "hi" to Mikey, the congenial owner and host.

Even though this is oriented to a gay and lesbian crowd, everyone is welcome. The clientele is very diverse and very, very good looking; the drinks are too. Magic Mango, blended concoctions, Daiquiris, Coladas, and more. The prices are average for this area. There's music of all types but the theme is dance and pop with a techno edge. The decor is crazy with spinning lights, glittery balls everywhere, and half-dressed staff to accent the mood. The entire scene is fun regardless of which way you swing.

Peacock's Bar and Restaurant is a highly regarded continental kitchen with the creative preparations of a German chef. Picture a huge plate full of Shrimp and Lobster dripping in Garlic Sauce and Scalloped Potatoes, and that might give you some idea of the menu here. The restaurant is a large open-air eatery with a palapa roof. The drink of choice is generally wine, so the wine list is extensive. The menu prices overall are moderate to expensive.

Description:
Mexican cuisine is not typically known for being light on the hips, but this place has made an effort to reduce the calories and maximize the flavor. The menu consists of seafood platters, surf and turf, and some of the best Shrimp and Lobster Enchiladas going. The decor is fun and tropical and the Margaritas have been described as some of the best in Baja. It shows all the major sporting events and has excellent views of the Main Street Marina. Here you can enjoy Belgian Waffles in the morning and the Mariachi bands in the evenings!

Head to this hot spot and meet a whole new group of people with one plan in mind: to drink something cool while basking in the sun (or under the palapa that covers the swim-up bar). Many people come for the beach chairs, the volleyball games on the sand, and the nice view of Playa Medano. This is a great place to socialize throughout the day while you tan. Seafood is the specialty with light Mexican fare also offered.
