Set directly on the narrow one-way street that fronts the beach, at the end of the Paseo Marítmo that's closest to Cádiz's Old Town, this is a gruff but well-managed grill restaurant. The specialty is meat and, to a much lesser extent, fish. It's charming and cozy, with fair prices and generous portions. It's obvious that a team of hardworking butchers has labored long and hard to load the glass-fronted refrigerated display cases with all kinds of steaks, chops, and cutlets. There's grilled lamb or chicken cutlets; chicken, pork, veal, or beef steaks; a mixed grill that comes with fried potatoes and garlic sauce; and a delicious local roasted veal specialty. If, perchance, you happen to be a vegetarian who has haplessly stumbled into this place by accident, there's a main-course platter of grilled vegetables. A small selection of fish includes the ubiquitous local staple: bacalao (codfish).
