At the opposite end of the Corniche from the cluster of the Hyatt, Four Seasons, and InterContinental, the Conrad looks across the Nile to Zamalek. Service is prompt and efficient here, and the business center is one of the best and most comprehensive in the city. (If this is a major priority to you, the Four Seasons First Residence over in Giza also deserves consideration.) With its massive, gleaming lobby and swirl of a staircase, the Conrad works hard to make sure you know you're in a five-star hotel -- the only problem is that it could be any five-star hotel. What the place lacks in character, however, is made up for by good service; the rooms are clean and well maintained, and the staff are pleasant and well prepared. The Conrad is very reasonably priced when you consider the competition down the Corniche or across the river in Zamalek.
