Nile Peking

Description:

  • The Nile Peking is one of my favorite places to eat, despite the mediocre food. In this case, it all comes down to location: an old steam-driven yacht that once belonged to King Faruq. The boat's decor is reminiscent of the stage set in an overblown production of Puccini's Chinese fantasy opera Turandot, complete with steam puffing extravagantly from the dragon's-head prow. Take your fried-banana and ice cream dessert to the open-air lounge up top as the boat makes its way up and down the Nile.
