Railway Museum

Description:

  • Cairo is full of dusty little museums tucked away in unlikely spots. This one is tacked onto the back of the Ramsis train station and is an absolute must-see for train buffs or for those who love old museums of any sort. The star of the collection is a magnificently opulent 19th-century engine built for Mohamed Said Pasha, which you can walk into, but the two floors of the museum are stuffed with enough model trains, planes, and bridges to keep your inner (and actual) 12-year-old happy for a couple of hours.
