Hi there - in a city of almost 20 million people that covers a huge area there are SO many good Egyptian restaurants that it's hard to know where to begin....

The Abou el Sid restaurants are good and very atmospheric (there are several in different locations but I think the Zamalek one is best); Felfela Downtown is cheap and easy, the Nubian Village in the Grand Hyatt. If you're out near the pyramids try Andrea along the Marioutiya Canal. El Tekkia in Mohandaseen or Dokki. Any busy specialised street koshari restaurant will give you an authentic Egyptian meal as well. I also enjoy the restaurants in Al Azhar Park.
