it all depends on what your interests are and which cities/heritage sites/beaches/temples etc that you want to visit and what your budget it. its all in your interest. The best places to visit is either South India or Rajasthan/himachal/uttaranchal belts where you can all types of good facilities and fun.

India is a huge country with so much to offer in terms of History, Archeology, Nature etc... so first make up your mind about what exactly you wish to visit and for how long. Then decide the kind of transport, hotels etc... Only then can one give a proper and precise response to your question
