Top 10:

Calgary Steakhouses

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • What are the five greatest letters in the English language? S-t-e-a-k. There's a reason why Calgary is called "Cowtown." Alberta Beef. Southern Alberta is a ranching community. And, our beef is regarded as some of the best in the entire world. We're proud of it, too, as you will see many I <3 Alberta Beef bumper stickers around town. A steakhouse in Calgary better be good. There's simply no excuse not to be world-class.

The Charcut Roast House is relatively new on the Calgary scene, but it has made a big impression, being rated as one of Canada's top 10 restaurants by en Route Magazine. This restaurant, located in the Hotel le Germain, is known for quality beef items.

Caesar's Steakhouse has been in Calgary for a long, long time. It's 4th Ave. location makes it very popular with the business crowd. It's a funny place, inside. The decor seems to not change, year after year. Many people comment on how it hasn't changed since the 1970's! The faux Roman design never goes out of style. But, in reality, Caesar's doesn't have to worry about the decor, because they always serve a perfect steak.

The Saltlik has a location on Stephen Ave., and it's quite popular. But, in all honesty, the Banff location is superior in almost every way. If you can get out to Banff mid-week, the Saltlik is a great place to spend happy hour, as they reduce the price on all food and beverages by 50%. The calamari is my favorite.
