Top 10:

Calgary Vietnamese Food Restaurants

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • Vietnamese food means spicy noodles, Pho soup, and subs. There are many Vietnamese restaurants in Calgary. Some of them are unexpectedly good hole in the walls, and others are posh and geared for the business crowd. Most are of great value. Vietnamese food tends to be about half the price per entree as other foods in Calgary.

Pho Pasteur Saigon is one of my favorite hole in the wall restaurants in Calgary. It serves the best beef noodle soup that I've ever had. This place is tucked away in Chinatown. It's cash only. And, it's never busy. But, the place is clean, the food is made fresh from scratch, and the value is incomparable. For only $7, it'll fill anyone.

Oriental Phoenix is completely different. Located in the old Gulf Tower on 9th Ave, it's just off of the busy Stephen Ave. and gets a lot of lunch traffic. It's best to reserve a table at lunch time. The food is very tasty, although I wouldn't necessarily consider it strictly a Vietnamese restaurant, because it's more of a pan-Asian cuisine.

Thi Thi makes some of Calgary's best subs, and Vietnamese subs are definitely great value. For a fast, cheap meal, it can't be beat! But, some people prefer Pho, and Pho Kim is great, if you can't make it to Pho Pasteur.
