An often over-looked way to enjoy Calgary is to stay in a Bed and Breakfast. Calgarians have a reputation for hospitality and friendliness, which comes across in the way these B&B hosts run their businesses. Many of these B&B's are in beautiful parts of Calgary, along our rivers or natural spaces. But, they all provide great service, comfortable rooms, and reasonable prices. When you consider that Banff is only 40 minutes away from Calgary, sometimes it just makes sense to avoid the crowds and expenses of staying in Banff.
An English Bed & Breakfast and Day Spa is a very well respected B&B. It is a peace-of-mind destination, where the hosts treat you exactly how you would hope! The main floor is reserved for guests, giving full access to the kitchen and living rooms, and the hot tub is open to the guests, as well. The spa is a great place to enjoy a massage. And, don't hesitate to ask Teri and David for their favorite restaurants! They know this city well.
Calgary Historic B&B at Twin Gables caters to the business crowd. This B&B is in one of Calgary's oldest districts, and it's house is a charming old home. Old by Calgary standards is about 80-100 years. Calgary Historic B&B prides itself on being Calgary's only 5-star rated B&B.
Along River Ridge Bed and Breakfast provides one of Calgary's best backyards. The gardens are beautiful, the deck is spacious, and the river flows by peacefully. It's a great escape from the hustle and bustle of being in the city.
