Most of Calgary's hotels are kid-friendly. Friendliness is one of Canada's core virtues, after all. So, if you're visiting for Stampede or getting ready to head to the ski slopes, staying in Calgary with children provides many options for where to stay.
Downtown hotels are our city's nicest hotels. They cater to a business crowd, to be sure, but they also welcome families. The Sheraton Eau Claire is an all-suites hotel on the edge of downtown. It is an easy walk to get to Prince's Island Park, which is perfect for picnics, play, and feeding ducks. Eau Claire Market has a great arcade at the cinema, and the Calgary Tower is not far away.
The Holiday Inn Express in the south part of Calgary has a water-slide in its pool. This is not very common for Calgary hotels. It's close to Southcentre Shopping Mall and the C-train. It's also a great place to stay if you're attending an event at Spruce Meadows. The Wingate Inn also is very close to Spruce Meadows.
For hotels near the airport, consider the Best Western. It's a name-brand, kid-friendly hotel with shuttle service back and forth to the airport.
