  • Calgary has the unfortunate pseudonym, "Cowtown". Don't let that throw you off when it's time to eat. While Alberta beef is some of the best in the world, there's more to this city that BBQ joints and steakhouses. In fact, some of our restaurants are world-class.

Only two Canadian restaurants made it onto the prestigious San Pellegrino World's 100 Best Restaurants list, and for the first time ever, one of them was from Calgary. Rouge restaurant, which is located in an historic, Inglewood house, made the cut, ranking 60th overall (the top ranked Canadian establishment). This restaurant has become famous for it's seasonal, local cuisine. It even grows much of its own ingredients in its own garden.

Charcut, which is located in Hotel Le Germain, was given 6th spot in enRoute Magazine's Ten Best Restaurants in Canada list. It is considered one of the best new steakhouses in town.

River Cafe is a beautiful restaurant in the city center, tucked away from the chaos of downtown in Prince's Island Park. The service is always excellent. Teatro continues to be the perfect setting for a romantic evening with dinner and a show.

In Calgary, you can find a huge variety of cuisines. From Thai Nongkhai to Capo, Glory of India to Globefish Sushi, the whole globe is covered. There's also a few distinctly Calgarian experiences, such as The Ranche and Sky 360.
