  • Depending on who you ask, some Canadians may tell you that Calgary Culture is an oxymoron; of course, anyone who thinks this has obviously not tried exploring the city to see what it has to offer. For a city of just over a million people, Calgary boasts a thriving array of art, music, theatre, dance and more for those eager to put a finger to the pulse of this vibrant young city. With a selection of museums, theatres and music venues right in the downtown core, Calgary has plenty to offer the art connoisseur. Of course, visual and performing arts are just a part of what makes up a city's culture... one mustn't forget food and drink! Any dose of Calgary should include a sampling of the city's many culinary delights. While Alberta may not be the vegetarian capital of Canada  (Psst! Try the Palomino, barbecue lovers!), there's no shortage of creative veggie-friendly cuisine to go around. A walk along 17th ave will take you to the Coup, Calgary's most celebrated vegan-friendly restaurant.

Where there's good eating, good drinking usually follows. Fans of fine wine, beer, coffee and more won't be disappointed in Calgary. Cocktail bars such as Milk Tiger and Ming will delight visitors seeking a fine martini, while local brew pubs such as Wild Rose are sure to satisfy the beer enthusiast. Whatever you choose, you're sure to drink your fill of culture in Calgary!
