This indoor, year-round farmer's market in the Southwest has everything, and you could easily spend half a day walking through it. There is a food court with different ethnic foods and fresh baking, but before you pay for food, do a tour of the generous free samples of food (that will likely fill you up!). A local favorite is Simple Simon Pies, which features small versions of sweet and savoury pies, and lets you sample everything!
- By offering small, local farmers the opportunity to sell their products directly to their customers, The Calgary Farmers' Market has re-established the relationship between rural Alberta and urban Calgary - bringing country food to city tables. In return, shoppers enjoy a nostalgic atmosphere where they can socialize, learn about healthy eating and speak directly with people who make, bake or grow the food they eat.
