• A sprawling complex in the heart of downtown, the stampede grounds provide year-round events. The most popular event is the ten day Calgary Stampede that brings tourists from around to the world to enjoy the rodeo, livestock and carnival showcase billed as the "greatest outdoor show on earth". If you happen to be in the city during the beginning of July, you'll find the fun continues throughout the city with numerous events for the whole family. Recent additions to the complex include a casino and convention facilities. The Pengrowth Saddledome is home to the NHL's Calgary Flames and also hosts concerts throught the year.
