The Underground Scene

Day Note:

Kensington, just north of the downtown core, is home to consignment clothing shops, record stores, cupcake bakeries, an independent movie theatre and one of the few independent bookstores left in our city. It's a great place to spend a day if you're looking for local culture. I would also recommend making the short trek north to the Alberta College of Art and Design, or ACAD, to check out their gallery.

This very popular club hosts Calgary's up-and-coming bands with live music every night. You can also enjoy great food while you watch; the restaurant opens early to host lunch, dinner, and is always willing to pour a stiff drink. Wednesday night is a pub night/live music night.
