Getting There
By car, Camden is right on U.S. Route 1. Coming from the south, you can shave a few minutes off the trip here by turning left onto state Route 90 about 6 miles past Waldoboro, bypassing the downtown streets of the city of Rockland. Concord Coach (tel. 800/639-3317; www.concordcoachlines.com) runs bus service (2 to 3 trips daily) to Camden from Boston and Portland.

Box 919, Camden, ME 04843 (tel. 800/223-5459 or 207/236-4404; www.camdenme.org), dispenses helpful information from its center at the Public Landing in Camden, where there's also free parking (although spaces are scarce in summer). The chamber is open year-round Monday to Saturday. In summer, it's also open Sundays from about 10am to 4pm.
