Just 5 minutes north from Revelstoke, across the Columbia River in a meadow overlooking the Monashee and Selkirk mountains, is this quiet alpine resort with outstanding amenities and a recreational focus. There are cozy, simply decorated rooms in the spacious lodge building, plus 10 free-standing log chalets that range from one to three bedrooms. Each chalet has a fireplace and deck, and some have TVs, hot tubs, and kitchenettes. In addition to a spa, indoor pool, and sauna, Glacier House also has a restaurant and bar, plus it operates an outfitting company to provide guided hiking, biking, and snowmobiling trips. This is a great destination for a family that wants a backcountry-style vacation without roughing it.
