• Shadow Mountain opened in late 2008, right about the time when the global recession started, and as a result it has had a very difficult time selling its community development plans. Unfortunately, that has taken its toll on the once beautifully manicured course. In 2009, they had 40+ staff working to maintain the course. By 2010, they cut back to only 14. It's a shame. The course had a lot of promise, and who knows? Maybe they'll turn it around financially. But, for now, it's going to be tough to stay open. The course is really difficult, which undulations and bunkers that can turn well struck shots into frustrating disasters! The 15th and 17th holes have really fun tee shots. Who doesn't love hitting a ball off a cliff? Sure, it's gimmicky, but seriously, who doesn't love that?
