Strolling down "Quinta avenida"

    • "Quinta avenida" is a nice avenue in downtown Playa del Carmen, it's a few blocks from the beach and you can stroll around for one or two hours... or more if you feel like!... no cars allowed in the avenue... find mexican handcrafts, gold and silver, open-air bars, cafés and restaruants with a laid-back, tolerant and cosmopolitan feel... you'll find everything from the stock market dude wearing expensive beach apparel, to the backpacker in dreadlocks and several tatoos hanging out with the friendly mexican bunch... buy a Corona at any of the convenience stores (a lot cheaper!!) and keep walking!!...(No... Police officers won't take you to jail for drinking on the street, if you behave, that is) ... You'll soon find a place to listen to live music and have lunch or dinner without leaving the lively feel of the street as most restaurants will have some tables set up right on the sidewalk... no cars being allowed, with a few tequila shots and the warmth of the caribbean breeze in their face, tourists sem to think the pavement makes for the best dancefloor ever... so it get's lively at night too!!!
