Brand Name Hotels in Cancun

  • Planning at trip to a foreign country can be a little overwhelming, when you aren't familiar with any of the hotels and don't know what to expect. Luckily, Cancun and Riviera Maya have several well-known US-based and Mexico-based hotel chains so visitors to the area can confidently book a hotel and know what level of service, quality, & cleanliness they will get.

    Marriott has two very nice hotels in Cancun's hotel zone. The JW Marriott is one of Cancun's nicest luxury hotels and, right next door, is the Marriott CasaMagna.

    Ritz-Carlton hotels are known the world over for their incredibly high standards of service and quality. Ritz-Carlton Cancun is a AAA Five Diamond Award winner and is continuously being ranked at one of the best hotels in the prestigious hotel chain. Omni and Hilton each have a property in the hotel zone. Hilton Cancun has one of the nicest pools in the area and they have their own golf course. That is a big bonus for golfers!

    There are two Westin properties in Cancun's hotel zone and, of course, each hotel's guest rooms come complete with the Westin chain's insanely comfortable Heavenly Beds. The Westin Lagunamar is in the heart of the action, right across the street from La Isla Mall, while Westin Cancun is at the southern end of the hotel strip. Westin Cancun is in a more remote area, but it is still on the bus route and has a fantastic beach. Westin Cancun has pools on either side of the hotel so sun worshipers can work on their tan from sunrise until sunset, but Westin Lagunamar has one of the most beautiful illusion pools in town. The colors of the pool perfectly match the colors of the Caribbean Sea and it's a beautiful sight to see. Club Med has a large property at the southern tip of Cancun's hotel zone, just south of Westin Cancun. The property caters to families and, even though it's located in Cancun's lively hotel zone, it's a world away from the hustle & bustle. It's a great location for a relaxing, family vacation.

    Dreams has several resorts throughout the region, but only one is in Cancun. Dreams Cancun is located at Punta Cancun, the point where the Caribbean Sea and Mujeres Bay meet. It is one of Cancun's oldest properties, but has been well-maintained over the years. Dreams hotels are all-inclusive properties which have top-notch service and very good food. Dreams Cancun is walking distance from nightlife, shopping, and restaurants. There is a fantastic spa on the premises and they also have a great Kids Club, for the little travelers in your group. Dreams resorts are wonderful for families, or couples.

    Another popular hotel brand that is well-represented in Cancun's hotel zone is Fiesta Americana. Their best hotel in Cancun is, by far, the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach. President Felipe Calderon recently stayed at this luxury hotel, and it's also popular with celebrities, but the staff makes all of their guests feel like royalty...even if they aren't.

    Fiesta Americana Condesa and Live Aqua Cancun are Cancun's other two hotels from the popular Fiesta Americana chain. Both are very nice, but Live Aqua Cancun is more luxurious than the Condesa. Live Aqua Cancun has an incredibly beautiful pool area and an award-winning spa.
