Located on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, Cancun is rarely thought of as a kid-friendly destination, but that is a common misconception. The has many family restaurants throughout the city. You'll even find many of the same chain restaurants you might typically find in the U.S., including McDonalds, Chili's, Margaritaville, Hooters, and Outback Steakhouse. This gives your family alternatives and doesn't mean you have to take the risk of going to many local restaurants and hope they have something your children like.
There are plenty of restaurants they may offer entrees that appeal to children, although not all of them will be cater to children. Knowing ahead of time helps guests decide which ones offer the environment and food to accommodate to a family.
Several restaurants on our list, like Senor Frog's, Carlos 'n Charlies, and Margaritaville, are restaurants by day and busy bars by night. If you dine early and leave the restaurants before 9:00pm, you should avoid any of the craziness & debauchery.
Perico's, a popular family restaurant in downtown Cancun, has a show and tries to involve the diners in the action. This will be a great place for children, since they will be able to jump around and play a little, during the audience-participation portions of the evening. Hooters at Plaza La Isla and Chili's in Plaza Forum by the Sea both have a play area for children.
Chocolate City has shows and, of course, chocolate. What kid wouldn't want to see a show AND eat chocolate?
Johnny Rockets is another great alternative for dining out with kids. Their burgers, fries, onion rings, and milk shakes are all out of this world and are sure to please the even the pickiest eaters in your family.
