Inside the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Cancun, there is a state-of-the-art culinary center which is tricked out with Viking appliances and beautiful granite counter tops. If that isn't enough, the glorious kitchen also has a great view of the Caribbean Sea.In the exquisite culinary center, you can take cooking classes from the center's chef, Rory Dunaway. Menus and the days of the week and time classes are offered all vary throughout the year, based on how busy the hotel is at any given time. During the busy season, classes are taught on Mexican and Italian cuisine, as well as good old Southern Style (USA) cooking.
Chef Rory leads each class and shows students how to prepare a meal. This is a hands-on experience and you actually cook during these classes. At the end of the class, you are rewarded handsomely when you get to eat the delicious meal you just helped prepare.
In addition to cooking classes, tequila tastings and Mexican wine tastings are also held each week.
If you prefer to sit back and watch, rather than actually cook, you can book the exclusive Dine With the Chef dinner instead of taking a class. The four-course meal is prepared by Chef Rory while his guests watch the cooking demonstration. No more than 12 people can attend these special dinners so reservations are required.
