  • NileGuide Expert Says:

Long hike into pretty Canyonlands backcountry

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Can encounter lots of people on the White Rim road and boat traffic on the river. Avoid during busy season if you prefer uncrowded hiking

    Description:

    • An easy start to this trail leads to a steep descent into Lathrop Canyon. You'll travel over grasslands on top of the mesa before you reach the switchbacks heading down to the popular White Rim Road. From there will be a spur trail for hikers to get into Lathrop Canyon. Three campsites are located here; get backcountry permits at the visitors center before you start your trip.
