Luckenbooth Bed & Breakfast

• Built in 1999, this modern, log-accented B&B has three bedrooms and is nicely located on 300m (984 ft.) of wooded shore frontage (with a trail down to the water). Guests have the run of several common areas, including the main living room with its cozy fireplace and soaring cathedral ceiling and a yellow-tartan-themed basement room with satellite television, a VCR, and games. (It's decorated in the clan tartans of proprietors Frances and Wayne McClure; Frances is also a bagpiper.) The guest rooms each have modern furnishings. The best of the lot is no. 3 upstairs, with hardwood floors, views of the bay, and a sitting area just outside the door. The other two rooms are in the walkout basement and feature cork floors. The inn has a no-shoes-inside policy, and slippers are furnished to guests. Breakfast is served by candlelight, a nice touch.
