  • Cape Cod lies within one of the East Coast's great fisheries, a fact that is reflected in the local cuisine. The whole cape is full of family-owned restaurants, and lacks that touristy vibe you'd get in other summer getaways. But for a taste of true culinary heaven while in Cape Cod, visit Chillingsworth Restaurant. Chillingsworth still holds the mantle for offering the best dining experience on all of Cape Cod. All the superlatives -- exquisite food, outstanding service, enviable wine list, romantic ambiance -- come with a price, but one so worthwhile that the only difficulty comes in acquiring a reservation.

Now for some real mouth-watering seafood, visit Aqua Grille. Aqua Grille is famous for its native seafood, but it also offers a number of other house specials. German chef Gert Rausch owns this restaurant and his food is influenced by German, Italian and Asian cuisines. And don't forget to try the cakes they offer for dessert.

Sunday brunch is an event at Falmouth's Coonamessett Inn, but then again, so is lunch or dinner just about any day of the week. This old-world eatery is set in a building that dates back to 1796. Dining venues range from a cozy pub-style setting to a bright and airy garden room. The food is top-notch New England fare -- fish, seafood, lamb, poultry, and beef complemented by locally-grown herbs and vegetables. Any kind of seafood that can be locally caught can be on your table within mere hours of its hilarious dance with the hook or cage. Cape Cod is definitely different than your average vacation spot when it comes to food.
